POP DFW helps you find things to do around Dallas and Fort Worth. We collect only what we need to run the site and make it better for you. We never sell your information.
Who we are
POP DFW is a local business based in Dallas, Texas. Questions or requests go to hello@popdfw.com.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address, your invitation word, and a password you choose. Passwords are stored scrambled, so we can never see yours.
- What you do on POP. Things like which cards you open, the event pages, directions and calendar links you tap, what you share, and the categories, filters and searches you use. This is tied to your account, not to your device or location.
- Where you came from. If you arrive from a link we shared, such as an ad, a post or a creator video, we note that link’s tag and the site that sent you. We keep only the first one.
- Invitation requests. If you ask for an invitation, we keep your first name, last name and email so we can reply.
- Interests you choose to share. If we ask what sounds fun, answering is optional and you can skip it.
We don’t collect your precise location, your contacts, or anything from your social media accounts. We don’t use outside advertising or tracking tools on the site. Like most websites, our hosting services keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep the beta invitation-only.
- To put things you’re likely to enjoy higher in your feed. Nothing is hidden from you because of it.
- To see, in totals, what’s popular and which links bring people in, so we know what’s working.
- To email you about your account and your invitation. We send only what you’d expect.
Who else handles it
A few trusted services help run POP DFW, and they use your information only to do that job for us.
- Supabase stores your account and activity.
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Resend delivers our emails.
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it with advertisers. We would share it only if the law requires it.
Cookies
We use a small number of our own cookies to keep you signed in, finish signing you up, and remember which link first brought you to POP DFW. We don’t use cookies from advertisers or other companies.
How long we keep it
Detailed activity is deleted after 90 days. We keep only a summary of the kinds of things you like and site-wide totals. Your account stays until you ask us to delete it.
Your choices
Email hello@popdfw.com any time to see what we have about you, fix it, or delete your account and its activity. We’ll take care of it within 30 days.
Kids
POP DFW is meant for adults and isn’t directed to children under 13. If you think a child has signed up, let us know and we’ll remove the account.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For big changes, we’ll email you first.
